about us

Strange Games Festival started in 2016 with a small group of friends who wanted to play Werewolf in a field. That was it. No grand plan, no big budget, just a campsite, some games, and people who were up for it.

It turned out a lot of people were up for it.

Over the years the festival grew, the games got more varied, and in 2021 we found our home at Bushy Wood, a woodland campsite in Sussex that feels like it was made for a weekend of gaming. Marquees in the trees, campfires in the evening, and a community that gets a little bigger and a little better every year.

In 2025 we added the Strange Games Campout, a smaller, more relaxed gathering for those who can’t wait until August. And in 2026 we took the leap and launched Strange Games Bristol at Woodhouse Park, bringing everything we’d learnt from a decade in Sussex to a brand new site and a brand new crowd.

We’re still a small, passionate team. We still run this because we wanted it to exist. We just do it in more places now.
