So what can you expect at the Festival this year? Lots and lots of board-gaming, RPGs, social deduction and other fun of course. We’ll be putting the schedule at www.strangegamesfestival.co.uk soon, but meantime I thought I’d mention a couple of new highlights…
Mini-megagames
First up, we’re got a nice wodge of mini-megagames. These are 12-30 player games that take a few hours, they play like large-scale boardgames with some degree of ‘in-character’ play. We’ve got Heist!, a cops vs robbers siege game, Den of Wolves: New Eden, a smaller variant of the famous Den of Wolves megagame (oddly reminiscent of Battlestar Galactica…) and Raven Banner, about the Viking invasion of England. So whether you fancy negotiating your escape with millions, leading a rag-tag fleet, or wielding a battleaxe across England, we’ve got you covered! Signups will be available via the website before the Festival.
D&D Adventurers League
Secondly, we’ve got D&D 5e organised play; Adventurers League! Create a new character, or bring your own and play through various linked adventures, culminating in an EPIC multi-table multi-party confrontation on the Sunday. Sign-ups via the website before the Festival again.
And much more…
Storytelling round the campfire, the return of Starship Bridge Simulator, Strange Traitors, a new retro console cafe, Werewolf in the Dark, Playculture, and regular ‘New Players, New Friends’ meets.
